Bouti Studio presents Temple, a new collection of faience lighting, with a design inspired by the discovery of Sri Lanka and the summit of Adam's Peak.
Approach
Sri Lanka invites the discovery of its temples and a particular atmosphere where one seeks inner contemplation. Adam's Peak is a summit reached after a climb of around 5,000 steps. Visitors from all walks of life gather at dawn to watch the sunrise and ring a bell installed at the top.
The designer draws on this lived experience to envision a collection of architectural and minimalist lamps, revealing carefully crafted details.
Each lamp presents a simple form at first glance and reveals its details as you observe it more closely. The pendant light, available as a portable lamp and a wall light, seems to present a revolution that is not one, playing with each profile to bring the surfaces to life.
The luminous openings of the table lamp graze its walls with a veil of light, revealing its organic details once the designer lamp is switched on.
The Three Pieces
The table lamp is the most sculptural piece, with a design that anchors it to the ground, giving it a strong character. Four panels structure the light, blending into one another and forming a dome, beneath which the light diffuses and the surface becomes more organic.
The other lamps adopt the most minimalist form of the collection. Two openings bring light to the top and bottom of the piece, and two others are positioned at the back for the wall light.
The portable lamp attaches to a wooden wall hook and can also be used as a wall light. Its height is adjustable. It is fitted with a solid brass cable clamp and a satin braided cable.
Craftsmanship
Each lamp is made in faience in the studio, using innovative techniques unique to the studio.
