The Medusa gallery lamp is a limited edition collector's item of 12 pieces designed by Clément Boutillon. Designed around the idea of making the lampshade disappear, its aesthetic commitment leads to a manufacturing complexity such that the designer decided to produce a limited edition of 12 pieces + 2AP.

Making the lampshade disappear. The lamp's design begins around this idea. A sculptural object takes shape, integrating different cutouts that let light through. Each opening becomes the heart of an organic aesthetic that light reveals.
Uncompromising, the light fixture features a reed that gives it its elegance, turning its manufacturing into a performance in its own right. Choosing commitment over ease, this designer lamp becomes a collectible work of art.

After the design through digital sculpting - refining the formal precision and character of the light fixture - the mold is created as its guarantee. A seven-part mold receiving 13 litres of liquid earthenware, which takes shape within it.
A careful play of hands then takes over during demolding, allowing the cutting of the light openings and the finishing of the sculpture. The piece is worked while still held in its mold, preserving the form of the fixture and its dome.
The collector's lamp is then immersed in an enamel bath - a kind of powdered glass - which fuses in the kiln to bring brilliance to the piece.
Each piece differs, through its slight variations in form and a few bubbles and variations in enamel.

The Lamp in Situ

The table lamp is a generous and delicate decorative piece, somewhere between a designer lamp and a work of art. It can be placed on a sideboard, buffet, shelf or bookcase. Allow 40 cm of depth for placement.
