The Temple pendant light is a minimalist lighting fixture inspired by the bell of Adam's Peak and the temples of Sri Lanka. Imagined by designer Clément Boutillon, it adopts a contemporary aesthetic whose form creates the illusion of a perfect revolution, unveiling an elaborate and refined shape. Design of the Temple pendant light
The lamp's design is inspired by the architecture of temples in the Sri Lankan region, in a refined, fresh and contemporary translation. The designer's light fixture presents an illusionist aesthetic that challenges perception. "Its shape suggests a classic roundness, while the details reveal the opposite, placing this lamp within the studio's particular expertise."
The top of the pendant light tapers, lending lightness to the piece and echoing the bell of the temple at Adam's Peak.
Artisanal craftsmanship of the pendant light
Handmade in France in the brand's studio, the Temple lamp is crafted in earthenware — a delicate and artisanal material. It is the plaster mold, developed in four parts in the studio, that gives the piece its shape and precision. Each lamp is cast in the mold, demolded then hand-finished. This is followed by a first firing, then dip glazing. A second firing brings the piece its final brilliance. The glaze varies from one piece to the next — each lamp carries the trace of the gesture and remains unique.
